Multiple people injured in shooting in British Columbia

The suspect in a shooting incident in British Columbia, Canada, has been arrested.

The suspect has been named by police as Kevin Michael Hambrook, 44, of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Hambrook broke into a home in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, early on Thursday morning, before shooting his way out.

Two people in the home were injured and a woman was grazed by a bullet, police said.

In a statement, the RCMP said Hambrook has been charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of shooting at an occupied dwelling.

The statement went on to say Hambrook had stolen cash from a commercial bank before driving to the house where he was arrested.

“At this time, the investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges are expected,” the police said.

The suspects was found to be in possession of a weapon, the statement said.

Pitt Meadows is about 65 miles (105km) north of Vancouver.
